ImageIn a surprise announcement, Digital Railroad disclosed on this date that it has furloughed about half of its staff and is restructuring its business to focus on the company's new stock photography division called Marketplace.

The Company did not reveal exactly how many people lost their jobs, but said it would maintain a presence in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and London.

"We've done a lot with a lot of people," said the company's new Chief Executive Charles Mauzy. "But, our staff has been out of proportion with the resources we have, which are not unsubstantial."
