In the first part of this series, we discussed the frustrations photographers and stock distributors face when selling to a gatekeeper instead of a decision-maker.
We suggested that sometimes it is possible to get past the gatekeeper and communicate directly to the decision-maker. This is the ideal solution, but it is not always possible.
Since photographers generally have more direct contact with both gatekeepers and decision-makers, we will talk about their alternatives first and wait for the third installment to consider solutions for distributors.
When you as a photographer find that reaching the decision-maker is impossible you must look for ways to help the gatekeeper go to bat for you.
